Furry AI chat: what it is and how to choose a site

What furry AI chat is

Each character has a species, a personality, a backstory and a way of talking. Some sites stop at text. Others add pictures of the character, a voice, or both.

People use it for slow-burn romance, long adventures, comfort after a hard day, and explicit scenes between adults. The characters are fictional, and so is everything that happens to them.

What to look for in a furry chat site

• Art that gets furry anatomy right. Some image tools draw a human with animal ears. A real furry style keeps muzzles, paws, tails and markings the same from picture to picture.
• Writing that knows the species. Wings, tails, size and senses should show up in how a character moves and reacts.
• Memory you can check. In a long story the character should keep names, places and past events straight, and you should be able to fix it when it gets something wrong.
• Pricing you can read in one go. Find out what is free, what costs money, whether anything renews and whether credit you buy runs out.
• Rules you know up front. Adult sites still refuse some things. Read the rules before you put months into a story.

How FurChat does it

• Pictures drawn during the chat in a furry art style, following each character's species and look
• Voice replies, and custom voices you can design for your own characters
• Six chat models to choose from, with replies that appear as they are written
• Swipes, to ask for another version of a reply and flip between them
• Story memory you can read and edit, plus pinned facts the character always keeps in mind
• A character creator for your fursona or anyone else, and tools to make images and short videos
• An importer for characters and chats from Character.AI, JanitorAI and character cards, where your first 10 characters and 25 chats are free

You get 100 free tokens every day. They do not build up, but they come back each day. A text reply costs 10 to 25 tokens depending on the model, and pictures or voice add to that.

Token packs are paid in crypto. There is no subscription, no payment renews, and tokens you buy never expire. If an image or video fails, its tokens come back, and a reply that fails is not charged. Pricing lists the packs.

Getting started

1. Browse the public characters and pick one whose species and story you like.
2. Say hello or set the scene yourself. The character answers in its own voice.
3. Ask for a picture, swipe for a different reply, or pin a fact you want remembered.
4. When you are ready, make your own character, or bring the ones you already have.

Questions

Is furry AI chat free on FurChat?

Partly. Every day you get 100 free tokens, enough for several text replies depending on the model. After that you can buy a token pack with crypto, and nothing renews.

Can I make my own fursona?

Yes. The character creator lets you set the species, look, personality and story, and the pictures in chat follow that look.

Will a character remember our story?

Yes. FurChat keeps a story memory for each chat that you can read and edit, and you can pin up to 20 facts the character should never forget.

Can I bring characters from another site?

Yes. The importer reads Character.AI exports, JanitorAI exports and character cards, or a chat you paste in. If you are leaving Character.AI, our guide walks through it.

How does FurChat compare with other sites?

We wrote side-by-side pages for Character.AI, JanitorAI, SpicyChat, Chub, Candy.ai and Joi AI, with the date we checked each one, and a price tracker that puts the costs in one table.

Who can use FurChat?

Adults only. You must be 18 or older, and characters who are minors are not allowed.
